| | | | Product Description: This standalone TV tuner allows you to watch your favorite TV shows on your computer monitor without the use of a computer. Simply connect the TV tuner to your LCD or CRT monitor and enjoy! This device is ideal for occasions when your primary TV is in use because it acts as a second television - all you need is a regular PC monitor. This system includes features found in advanced televisions, including picture-in-picture, which allows you to watch two channels at once (PC connection required to use this function).
You can connect the TVBOXHD to your speaker system for sound, and it connects to a TV antenna or coaxial cable to receive TV broadcasting. It also accepts component, s-video, and RCA composite connections, allowing you to connect your high definition game console/satellite receiver, Blu-ray/HD-DVD/progressive scan DVD player, or any device that has an AV connection. This enables you to view any of these devices on your LCD or CRT monitor. The TVBOXHD supports high definition resolutions of up to 1680x1050, and is a perfect solution to your video needs.
Average Rating :
Rating : - NOT HD, falsely advertised The advertising on this page is false, because this device does not support anything above 480p. It's NOT HD. I tried to hook up my xbox 360 up to it with HDTV enabled and it did not work, so I had to put it back to standard definition.
The manual is also very poorly put together and badly translated with lots of broken English. The device itself didn't even come with English as the default language, so I had to mess around with the settings until I found the language setting to set it to English.
But, I ultimately decided to keep the device instead of returning it because it actually is a very handy device and displays nicely in standard definition. If you have two audio cables and VGA cables you can hook the PC and speakers to it, so the display goes through the device and into the monitor, and the sound goes through the device and into your speakers, so you can easily switch between PC mode and TV/component/composite input just by turning the power off or pressing a single button. There is no lag with the video games or anything either so you can play your console on it with no problems as long as its standard def.
So after you can get it set up right, it's actually a pretty handy and nice device with good display, but don't believe the advertisement of it being HD because it does NOT support HD. Try to find this cheaper elsewhere if you still want to buy it because I think I paid too much for it since it doesn't actually support HD. Read more ...
