Rating : - Nice Stand I was pleasantly suprised by this TV stand. I got it because I needed a corner stand with storage to fit my 46" plasma for under $300. I was nervous when I purchased it because the description I read said "wood veneer", but I was happy to see that the finish (I went with the Macintosh finish) is actually pretty nice. It also feels very solid once assembled, which is probably because of the good fit between all the pieces, and the thicker backing pieces that another reviewer mentioned (by the way the backing pieces are MDF, not wood). My only complaint is that the drawers don't open as smoothly as they would if they had used metal tracks, but really for the price it's not a deal breaker.
It was pretty easy to assemble, as the diagrams were pretty easy to follow, though they could have stepped up and broken the directions down into more than two steps (1. assemble tv stand, 2. assemble drawers). It took me about 2 hours to do by myself while entertaining a 10 week old baby. I figure sans baby, it probably would have taken half that.
I saw some questions about measurements. I didn't get all the dimensions, but the center opening is 22" wide and the center shelf height is adjustable to 3 different positions. The drawers are 11" wide by 9.5" long. I use them to store DVDs and video games, and it works out pretty well.
Overall I am very happy with the stand. It's solid, looks pretty good, and didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Read more ... | |
